Hobart junior sailor
Sam Blouin won the Laser North No. 1 Regatta in Kings Point N.Y., over the weekend. Senior
Sam Padnos was right behind him registering a second place finish.
Blouin took first in the A Division with a score of 41. He finished six of 11 races in the top-3, including two victories. Padnos recorded 45 points, and also finished in the top-3 in six of 11 races. He notched four victories. Also in the A Division, sophomore Timothy Zacher registered a fourth place finish with a score of 79, and senior
Ike Babbitt took 12th (122). Blouin, Padnos and Zacher all qualified for the Van Duyne Trophy, the MAISA Men's Singlehanded Championship.
William Smith sailors competed in the Radial Open in Annapolis, Md., over the weekend. First-year
Arielle deLisser registered a second place finish with a score of 44. She posted top-3 finishes in six of the 10 races, including four victories. Senior
Kelly Crane finished fifth (61), and senior Caroline Pattern claimed a sixth place finish (63). First-year
Brooke Lyon was right behind her in seventh place (68).
The Hobart and William Smith sailing team also placed second out of 17 teams at the Cornell Fall Open. HWS finished with a team score of 56 points. Navy took first place with a low score of 52. In the A Division, junior

Jane Rew teamed up to finish third with a score of 34. In the B Division, first-years
Louis Padnos and Jackie Day notched a second place finish with a score of 22.
The HWS sailing team will be back in action Sept. 18-19 at the Nevins Trophy Regatta and the N.Y. Maritime Open.
