N.Y. Maritime Open Results
The Hobart and William Smith Colleges sailing team earned a victory at the N.Y. Maritime Open over the weekend. Junior
Patrick Kana and first-year
Julia Oak teamed up for a win in the A Division, and sophomore
Tim Zacher paired with first-year
Morgan Gould to take first in the B Division.
Kana and Oak placed second in their first two races, posted one third place finish and earned three victories for a low score of 10. Zacher and Gould finished fifth in their opening race and earned four victories to go along with one second place finish for a score of 11. HWS finished first out of 18 squads.
HWS sailors also competed at Kings Point, N.Y., for the Nevins Trophy over the weekend. The team finished sixth in the field of 18. Junior

Chris Klevan led the charge with a fifth place finish in the B Division. Together they posted a score of 56. Senior
David Thompson and sophomore
Bridget Nannig earned an 11th place finish in A Division, and recorded a score of 71. Junior
Sam Blouin finished ninth in the C Division with a score of 47.
The team will be back on the water Sept. 25-26 when it competes in St. Mary's, Md., at the St. Mary's Fall Intersectional, and in Throggs Neck, N.Y., at the North Fall No. 1. Sailors will also be competing at Kings Point, N.Y., in the Laser North No. 2 and in Annapolis, Md., at the Faye Bennet Trophy.
