GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith College swimming and diving team posted a pair of dual meet victories over Cazenovia College and Wells College in Bristol Pool today. The Herons tamed the Wildcats 63-35 and put the brakes on the Express 59-26.
Wells slipped past Cazenovia 51-48, while the Express men's team notched a one-point victory over the Wildcats, 50-49.
William Smith sophomore
Heidi Gordon picked up a pair of individual victories, capturing the 200-yard freestyle in 2:09.27 and the 100 butterfly in 1:04.39.
Sophomore
Casey Sherwin and first-year
Emily Morosky also had a hand in two victories each for the Herons. They teamed up with sophomores
Katie Stebbins and
Amanda Woods to win the 200 medley relay. Sherwin went on to victory in the 50 free (26.39), while Morosky was victorious in the 100 backstroke (1:05.44).
Senior
Lindsay Simonson and first-year
Lia Duffy also posted wins for William Smith. Simonson logged a winning time of 59.72 in the 100 free, while Duffy took the 1,000 free in 11:50.01.
Wells won three events, while Cazenovia won two.
The Herons will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 5, when they compete in the Skidmore Sprint Invitational.
