The Hobart rowing team's novice eight was named the Liberty League Boat of the Week by the conference office today. The Statesmen won their collegiate debut in the HWS Challenge of the Canal on Saturday.
 
The Statesmen dominated the opposition on the Seneca-Cayuga Canal, finishing 1:48 ahead of second place Marietta. The boat was powered by first-years Robert McNamara, Owen Monahan, W. Hunter Holtz, Jordan Mueller, Tyler Wilson-Menting, Nick Hindle, Nick Faiello, Joe Biesemeyer, and coxed by Nick Snow. The covered the course in 16:43.
 
Hobart is back on the water on Oct. 15, when the Statesmen compete in the Head of the Genesee in Rochester.
