GENEVA, N.Y.—The Skidmore College women's tennis team edged William Smith 5-4 in a match played in Bristol Field House this afternoon. It was the first match of the spring season for the Herons who are now 2-1 overall.

Amanda Slack led William Smith with a 7-6, 3-6, 7-5 win at No. 1. Sophomore
Kiara Ocasio picked up a 7-5, 6-4 win over her Thoroughbred opponent at No. 3. At the No. 4 spot, junior
Joanie Hilton earned a 6-0, 6-1 win, and at No. 5 senior
Melissa Slack posted a 6-4, 6-3 victory.
The Herons will be back in action on March 13, when they start off their spring break trip with a match against Simpson in Orlando, Fla.
