GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith tennis team cruised to a 9-0 sweep of visiting Cortland this afternoon on the indoor courts in Bristol Field House. The Herons improve to 11-3 and the Red Dragons are now 7-5.

William Smith started off the afternoon winning all three doubles points. Junior Joanie Hilton and sophomore Kiara Ocasio teamed up for an 8-3 win at the top double spot. Junior Jess McCue and junior Katie Serock posted an 8-4 victory at No. 2, and sophomore Hallsey Leighton and sophomore Remy Raevsky cruised to an 8-1 win at No. 3.

In singles play, senior Amanda Slack defeated Loraine Jelinek 6-2, 6-2 at the top spot. Junior Casey Kennedy registered a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2. At No. 3, senior Melissa Slack breezed to a 6-1, 6-1 victory, and at No. 4 first-year Kate O'Connor registered a 6-2, 6-4 win. First-year Casey Nicoletti blanked her Cortland opponent at No. 5, and senior Gaby Berkman cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6.

The Herons will be back in action tomorrow, April 17 when they host Brockport at 1 p.m.
