The William Smith swimming and diving team lost a close battle at Alfred 129-111 today. The Herons picked up wins in four events.

Casey Sherwin led the way for William Smith with a hand in two victories. She came out on top in the 200 backstroke touching the wall in 2:20.99. She also helped the Herons to a first place finish in the 200 free relay, teaming up with junior

Lauren Morosky and senior
Amanda Woods for a time of 1:45.92.
First-year
Sarah Litt came in first in the 1000 free with a time of 11:35.19. She was more than 17 seconds ahead of the runner-up. William Smith recorded a 1-2 finish in the 200 breaststroke. Senior
Katie Stebbins touched the wall first in 2:39.59, and classmate
Heidi Gordon was second with a time of 2:44.95.

Mimi Mahoney came in second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:57.54. First-year
Brooke Adams posted second place finish for the Herons in the 200 free in 2:11.54., and Duffy placed second in the 50 free, finishing less than a second behind Alfred's Kelsey McRill. Gordon came in second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:24.55, and Litt touched the wall second in the 200 butterfly in 2:25.23.
The Herons will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 17, when they host Cobleskill in Bristol Pool at 1 p.m.
