Heron swimming & diving comes up short against Bombers

Results

The William Smith College swimming and diving team visited the Arts and Events Center Aquatics Pavilion at Ithaca College tonight. The Bombers posted a 149-88 victory over the Herons.

First-year Sarah Litt won the 200-yard butterfly for William Smith, posting a time of 2:18.52. She touched the wall more than 2 seconds ahead of the runner up.

The Herons also picked up first place points in the 200 breaststroke behind senior Katie Stebbins' 2:39.79 and in the 200 free relay with first-year Kate Mendez, senior Amanda Woods, first-year Brooke Adams, and sophomore Danielle Bagwin logging a time of 1:51.48.

The Herons (2-1) got second place finishes from their 200 medley relay team, Casey Sherwin (50 free), Lia Duffy (200 IM & 100 free), Heidi Gordon (200 breaststroke).

William Smith will be back in the pool on Saturday, Nov. 10, when they visit Alfred. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
