The Hobart College lacrosse team will host Robert Morris University on Boswell Field at the Caird Center for Sports and Recreation on Saturday, March 17. The St. Patrick's Day faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Statesmen are playing their first home game on the holiday after posting a 2-1 record in three previous holiday matchups on the road, most recently a 15-10 win at Lehigh in 2001.

WEOS-FM (89.7/90.3 in Geneva) will broadcast the game live.

Hobart (1-3) aims to rebound from a pair of road losses last week, including a 14-10 set back at Bucknell last Saturday. Sophomore attackman Cam Stone led the Statesmen against the Bison, handing out a career-high six assists, one shy of the Hobart Division I game record. The performance vaulted him into a tie for the team lead in points (3-8-11) with classmate Alex Love, who has a team-high 11 goals.

The Statesmen began the week ranked third in the nation in ground balls (37.0), ninth in faceoff percentage (.588), 10th in saves per game (13.0), 13th in caused turnovers (8.75), and 16th in scoring offense (11.0). Senior midfielder Bobby Dattilo  leads the nation in faceoff percentage (.754) and leads the ECAC and ranks third in the nation in ground balls (7.33).

At the defensive end of the field, sophomore goalie Peter Zonino is third in the nation in saves (14.7) and sports a .512 save percentage. Junior defenseman Reid Rosello, thanks in large part to a Hobart game record six caused turnovers at Colgate, is fourth in the nation in caused turnovers (2.5).

The Colonials (4-2) are receiving votes in both the USILA coaches poll and the Inside Lacrosse media poll after a 9-7 win over Ohio State on March 9. RMU is ranked in the top 20 in saves per game (6, 13.5), assists per game (13, 7.17), points per game (14, 18.33), scoring offense (15, 11.17), winning percentage (15, .667) and ground balls per game (17, 32.83).

The game also marks the return of the Statesmen Athletic Association Tent. Current SAA members are reminded that lunch will be served beginning an hour before the opening faceoff and be available until 30 minutes after the start of the game.
