GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith tennis team breezed to a 9-0 victory over visiting New York University in a match played on the indoor courts in Bristol Field House at the Caird Center for Sports and Recreation this morning. With the win, the Herons improve their record to 6-3 this season.
The Herons, who are ranked No. 16 in the Northeast Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, picked up wins at No. 1 and 2 doubles and won by forfeit at No. 3. Senior

Kiara Ocasio logged an 8-2 win at the top spot, and seniors
Casey Kennedy and
Katie Serock paired up for an 8-5 victory at No. 2.
Kennedy picked up another win, topping Hanna Blau 6-2, 6-2 at the top singles spot. Occasio battled with Ramya Pokala at No. 2. She won the first set 7-6, but lost 6-2 in the second. Ocasio came out victorious in the tie break 10-5. Hilton defeated Megan Moore 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3, and junior
Hallsey Leighton cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win over her Violet opponent at No. 4. Sophomore
Casey Nicoletti blanked Haley Mears 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5, and first-year
Haley Wolf won by forfeit at No. 6.
The Violets are now 0-5 this season.
The Herons will be back on the courts when they host Hamilton on Tuesday, April 3 at 4 p.m.
