The William Smith College swimming and diving team picked up a pair of dual meet victories this afternoon. The Herons won eight of the day's 14 events, defeating the host Wells College Express 153-97 and the Cazenovia College Wildcats 153-94.
William Smith was led by senior
Lauren Morosky who won both the 50-yard freestyle and the 100 free. In the 50, she outtouched Wells' Hilary Feudale by 0.01 seconds, posting a winning time of 26.96. In the 100, Morosky led a 1-2-3 sweep by the Herons, winning in 59.33, 0.61 seconds ahead of sophomore
Leah Jacob. Senior
Amanda Woods was third.
Woods posted a victory over own, capturing the 1,000 free in 12:19.23.
The Herons also posted 1-2-3 sweeps in the 200 free, 100 butterfly, and 500 free, while William Smith went 1-2 in the 200 backstroke.

Heidi Gordon won in 2:09.86 with first-years
Brooke Adams and
Cece Carsky-Bush taking second and third, respectively. Sophomore
Samantha Burnett beat first-year
Sarah Litt by just 0.24 seconds in the 100 fly. Burnett's winning time was 1:05.68. Senior
Kristine Faulknham was third. In the 500 free, senior
Casey Sherwin won with a time of 5:43.26 with Adams taking second and senior
Katie Stebbins finishing third. The 200 back went to junior
Mimi Mahoney in 2:28.01 with sophomore
Danielle Bagwin taking second.
William Smith opened the meet with a 1-2 sweep in the 200 medley relay. Litt, Stebbins, Adams, and Sherwin clocked in at 2:03.61, winning by less than a second over first-year
Kate Mendez, Gordon, Carsky-Bush, and Mahoney.
The Herons are back in the pool at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, when they compete in the Skidmore Invitational.
