The William Smith College swimming and diving team swept a tri-meet against Utica and Cazenovia colleges in Utica, N.Y., tonight. The Herons defeated the Pioneers 116-72 and the Wildcats 123-84.

First-year Kelsey Bohl had a hand in three Heron victories, while junior Christine Rhoads, junior Samantha Burnett, and first-year Caroline Conboy each won twice.

Bohl, Conboy, sophomore Brooke Adams, and Burnett led a 1-2 sweep for the Herons in the 200-yard medley relay, posting a winning time of 2:06.0. Bohl also led two 1-2-3 sweeps in the 50 free and the 100 backstroke. In the 50, she hit the wall in 25.84 seconds, 1.03 seconds ahead of Burnett. In the 100 back, Bohl touched in at 1:05.26, 3.64 seconds ahead of senior Mimi Mahoney.

Rhoads was victorious in the 200 individual medley and the 100 free. She beat Adams by 3.72 seconds in the 200 IM with a time of 2:25.05. Rhoads led another 1-2-3 sweep in the 100 free, posting a time of 58.57, 2.01 seconds ahead of first-year Stefani Schmitz.

In addition to the 200 medley relay, Burnett also captured the 100 butterfly in 1:03.01, 2.28 in front of Adams.

Conboy won the 200 free in 2:09.07. First-year Kelsey McElwain and senior Sally Storch took second and third, respectively. Conboy's time in the 500 free, 5:48.12, would have been good enough for a third win, but she swam the event as an exhibition entry.

William Smith will be back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 5, when the Herons host Ithaca in Bristol Pool. The meet is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
