The William Smith College tennis team suffered its first loss of the 2012-13 season, falling to Rochester today. The Herons dropped the match 8-1 to the Yellowjackets, who are ranked No. 15 in the Northeast Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

William Smith, who is ranked No. 18 in the Northeast, is now 5-1 overall. Seniors Hallsey Leighton and Remy Raevsky earned the lone win for the Herons, topping Rochester's Christine Ho and Molly Goodman 8-3 at No. 2 doubles. Leighton and Raevsky are now 1-1 at the No. 2 spot this season.

William Smith will be back on the courts on April 3, when they travel to take on Hamilton at 6 p.m.
