The William Smith College tennis team will compete in the 2013 Liberty League Women's Tennis Tournament this weekend, May 3-5. Matches will be played on the RIT Tennis Courts in Henrietta, N.Y.
The Herons bring an 11-6 record into tournament play and are the No. 4 seed. William Smith is ranked No. 19 in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Region Rankings. The Herons rounded out the regular season with a 7-2 win over RIT on Tuesday. First-year

Kathleen Kennedy have posted a team-high 10 doubles wins, and have logged an 8-4 mark at No. 3.
Skidmore enters the tournament as the top seed with a 9-8 overall record. The Thoroughbreds are ranked No. 19 in the nation and No. 5 in the Northeast Region. Vassar (11-3) is the No. 2 seed. The Brewers come in at No. 25 in the country and No. 10 in the Northeast. St. Lawrence (9-5), the No. 17 team in the Northeast, is the No. 3 seed, and RPI (13-4), regionally ranked No. 20, is the No. 5 seed. RIT (1-8), Union (5-9) and Bard (4-7) round out the field as the No. 5, No. 6, and No. 7 seeds, respectively.
The Herons will take on Rensselaer in their quarterfinal match on Friday, May 3 at 11 a.m. Skidmore will square off with Bard to start things off at 9 a.m. Vassar will play Union at 2 p.m., and St. Lawrence will take on RIT at 4 p.m. Saturday's semifinals will be played at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and the championship match will take place on Sunday, May 5 at 10 a.m.
