The William Smith College tennis team dropped its match 5-0 to top-seeded Skidmore in a Liberty League Tournament semifinal match played this morning at RIT. The No. 4 seeded Herons finished the year with a 12-7 overall record.
The Thoroughbreds, who are ranked No. 19 in the country and No. 5 in the Northeast Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, are now 11-8 overall and advance to the Liberty League Tournament championship. Skidmore came out of doubles play up 3-0. The Thoroughbreds earned wins at No. 2 and No. 5 in singles play to secure the overall victory. Liberty League tournament matches are played until decisions so Nos. 1,3,4, and 6 singles remained unfinished.

Hallsey Leighton and
Remy Raevsky have now completed their William Smith tennis careers. Leighton has posted 41 career singles wins and 47 career doubles victories over the past four years. Raevsky has recorded 35 singles wins and 50 doubles victories in her four-year career.
