GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith College swimming and diving team earned a pair of dual meet victories in Bristol Pool this afternoon. The Herons defeated Wells College 111-67 and Cazenovia College 112-82.
The Express women defeated the Wildcats 120-85, while the Cazenovia men defeated Wells 111-41.
First-year
Caroline Conboy had a hand in three of the Herons' 10 victories on the day. She captured the 50-yard freestyle in 26.69 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:12.47. Conboy also teamed with first-year
Stefani Schmitz, first-year
Kelsey Bohl, and senior
Sally Storch to win 200 medley relay with a time of 1:57.24.
Junior
Christine Rhoads also earned a pair of individual victories. She finished first in the 200 free (2:05.30) and the 100 free (58.69).
Schmitz and Bohl prevailed in one individual event each. Schmitz took the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:05.56 while Bohl finished first in the 400 individual medley, stopping the clock at 5:04.67.
Sophomore
Brooke Adams, junior
Samantha Burnett, and first-year
Samantha Bowers won the 1,000 free (12:04.17), the 100 butterfly (1:03.65) and the 500 free (5:50.25), respectively.
Storch and her classmates,
Mimi Mahoney,
Kirsten Spalding, and
Marielle Verni, finished their collegiate dual meet careers with a 29-8 record.
William Smith returns to competition at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, when the Herons compete in the Skidmore Invitational.
