Hobart College junior
Tyler Terens scored two goals and added an assist as the Statesmen soccer team downed Elmira 7-0 in a non-conference match played today in Elmira, New York. Hobart improves to 9-4-3 this season, while the Soaring Eagles fall to 0-12-2.

Six different Statesmen scored in the victory, and four of them notched their first goals of the year. It was the most goals scored by Hobart in a game since the Statesmen scored seven goals in a 7-2 victory over Scranton on Oct. 5, 2002.

Mike Lucas played the opening 73:01 and stopped all four shots that he faced. First-year goalie
Morgan Sawyer came in for the final 16:59 and made one save. It's the ninth shutout of the year for Hobart and its fourth straight. The Statemen's shutout streak now stands at 434:44.

Terens started the scoring for Hobart 7:59 into the match with his first goal of the season. Terens then set up junior
Jacob Fox to make it 2-0 at 18:31. In the 29th minute, sophomore
JP White found the back of the net after a pass from classmate
Carl Weiss to stretch the lead to 3-0 going into the break.

Just 10 seconds into the second half, Terens notched his second goal of the afternoon. Just over five minutes later, Dunn chipped in his first goal of the year to make it 5-0. In the 54th minute, junior
Kyle Wiatrowski made it 6-0 off an assist from classmate
Marco Ronning. It was Wiatrowski's first goal this year. First-year
Patrick Schulz added his first collegiate goal in the 73rd minute for the final score. Dunn earned the assist on the Statesmen's seventh goal.

The Statesmen finished with a 30-7 advantage in shots and an 8-2 lead in corners. Jordan Dougherty played all 90 minutes in goal for Elmira and finished with 10 saves.

Hobart will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 25, when it hosts Clarkson for a Liberty League contest on Cozzens Field at 2 p.m.
