GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College soccer team picked up an important Liberty League win today on Cozzens Field, topping visiting Clarkson 4-1. Four different Statesmen scored in the victory.

Hobart improves to 10-4-2 overall and 3-2-2 in the Liberty League and has one more conference game left in its schedule. The Golden Knights fall to 7-9-1 and 2-5-0 in the conference. Sophomore
Tyler Serafine played the opening 64:45 in goal and made three saves. His shutout streak now stands at 574:31. Senior
Mike Lucas came in for the final 25:15 and made one stop.

Tyler Terens got the scoring started for the Statesmen just 5:13 in. Terens took a corner kick for Hobart which curved into the far left corner of the goal. It was his third goal this season. Senior
Kyle Herod put the Statesmen up 2-0 in the 19th minute. Hobart had earned a corner and Clarkson was trying to clear the ball out of the box. It bounced around and came to Herod whose shot clipped a Golden Knight defender before hitting the back of the net. It was Herod's third goal this season.

JP White extended the Statesmen lead to 3-0 on another unassisted tally in the 54th minute. Once again, Clarkson was attempting to clear the ball out of the box, but White stopped the clear and just tapped the ball inside the left post. It was his third goal of the season. Just 3:21 later, junior
Zico Gaeffke gave Hobart a 4-0 lead. Junior
Jacob Fox pushed a short pass to Gaeffke at the top of the box, and Gaeffke drilled his shot into the left side of the goal.

In the 71st minute, Troy White broke through for the Golden Knights, ending the Statesmen's shutout streak at 505:08. James Cowie sent a short pass across the goal mouth to White on his left, and White tapped the ball over the line to make it 4-1.

Hobart finished with a 14-11 advantage in shots and a 6-0 lead in corners. Michael King played all 90 minutes in goal for the Golden Knights and finished with four saves.

The Statesmen will be back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 28, when they travel to take on Fredonia in a non-league game at 7 p.m.
