Krista Longo scored 6:01 into the match to guide the No. 8 Heron soccer team to a 1-0 Liberty League win over Clarkson in Potsdam, New York, this afternoon. The Herons earned their 11th straight victory to improve to 12-2-0 overall and 7-0-0 in the Liberty League.
With today's victory, William Smith clinched the Liberty League regular season title outright. It's the eighth straight conference regular season title for the Herons.

Nicole McGlinchy played all 90 minutes in goal and stopped the one shot she faced to secure her third collegiate shutout.

Just 6:01 into the game, Longo scored on a low shot from the top of the box after a pass from classmate
MaryClaire Pelletier. It proved to be all the Herons would need to earn the victory as their defense held strong for the remainder of the match. It was Longo's sixth goal of the season and third game winner this fall. Pelletier has notched three assists this year.

Kim Lenline played all 90 minutes in goal for Clarkson and made seven saves. William Smith finished with an 11-4 advantage in shots and a 4-0 lead in corners.

The Herons will be back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 28, when they host Nazareth for a non-league game at 4 p.m.
