GENEVA, N.Y.—The No. 7 William Smith College soccer team downed visiting Keene State 5-0 in an NCAA Women's Soccer Championship first round match played on Cozzens Field this afternoon. The Herons improve to 16-2-1 overall and extend their unbeaten streak to 16 matches.

Lauren Randaccio notched two goals and senior
Brenna Kincaid tallied two assists in the win. First-year goalie
Nicole McGlinchy played the first 63:09 in goal for the Herons and did not face a shot on goal. First-year
Hannah Fricke came in for the final 26:51 and made two saves. It's William Smith's 13th shutout of the year and third straight.

The Owls finished their season with a 13-9-2 overall record.

Junior
Zoe Jackson Gibson gave William Smith a 1-0 advantage just eight minutes in. Senior
Madeline Buckley sent in a Heron corner kick, and a flurry of action in front of the goal ensued. Senior
Krista Longo drilled a shot on goal that was saved by a defender, and the rebound bounced out to Jackson Gibson who tapped the ball just over the goal line. It was her first goal of the season.

In the 29th minute, Kincaid took a free kick for William Smith from the right side of the field. She placed a perfect cross inside the box for Longo to head into the back of the net. It was Longo's 10th goal this season. Just over 10 minutes later, Kincaid sent in another cross from the right side, this time finding Randaccio for the header goal to make it 3-0.

William Smith continued to control the match in the second half adding two more goals. Sophomore
Kara Shue made it 4-0 in the 56th minute. She intercepted a clear out attempt by the Owls just outside of the box, carried the ball in and sent home her shot for her seventh tally this year. Randaccio struck again in the 86th minute for the final score. First-year
Cailin MacLean pushed a cross from the right side to find Randaccio out in front for her sixth goal of the season.

The Herons finished with a 24-6 advantage in shots, holding the Owls to just one shot in the first half. William Smith also held an 8-0 lead in corners.

Victoria Crenson played all 90 minutes in goal and finished with eight saves.

The Herons advance to the second round of the NCAA tournament and will play tomorrow, Sunday, Nov.16, on Cozzens Field at 1 p.m. They will face #12 TCNJ who topped Allegheny 3-0 in their first round match this afternoon.
