Herons come up short against Bombers

ITHACA, N.Y. – The William Smith College swimming and diving team fell to Ithaca 190-47 this evening. First-year Katie Storch led the way for the Herons garnering second place points in three events.
 
William Smith's 200-yard medley relay of Storch, Kelsey Bohl, Caroline Conboy and Sam Burnett were out touched by 35 hundreths of a second by Ithaca's relay team. In the 200-yard freestyle, Storch posted a time of 2:03.56 finishing eight-tenths of a second behind Ithaca's Lake Duffy. Storch also swam the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 57.05, six hundredths in back of event winner, Megan Buisman.  Bohl added a second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke finishing with a time of 1:05.16.
 
Ithaca (4-0) finished first in every event and earned the top three places in six events. Nickie Griesermer, Grace Ayer and Christin Zulkosky each won two events for the Bombers.
 
The Herons return to the water Saturday, Nov. 8, when they travel to Alfred University for a 1 p.m. meet.
