The Hobart College squash team defeated Bucknell 8-1 this afternoon at the Smith Squash Center. The Statesmen are now 5-4 overall.

Hobart jumped out to a 3-1 lead and clinched the victory when first-year
Jack Shannon defeated his Bucknell counterpart 11-4, 11-7, 11-6 at the No. 7 spot. Hobart also got 3-0 victories at the No. 4, No. 6 and No. 8 spots. First-year
Divine Wing won at No. 4 (11-8, 11-4, 11-5), Junior
Danny Cabrera notched the victory at No. 6 (11-1, 11-5, 11-7), and sophomore,
Scott Marcus defeated his opponent at No. 8 (11-7, 11-5, 11-7). Sophomore
Beau Orchard's match at No. 2 went to five games with Orchard emerging victorious 10-12, 12-10, 11-8, 7-11, 11-8. First-year
James Pierpont won at No. 5 (11-4, 7-11, 11-5, 11-5).

The No. 1's did battle in the afternoon's final match. Hobart sophomore
Felipe Pantle notched a 3-1 victory. After splitting the first two games, 11-8, 9-11, Pantle rallied from down 6-1 to win the third game 12-10 and went on to easily win the fourth game, 11-4.

Today's match completed the fall portion of Hobart's schedule. The Statesmen will return to the court on Jan. 16, 2015, when they travel to Northampton, Massachusetts for the 2015 Pioneer Valley Invitational.
