The Hobart College squash team defeated MIT 8-1 in its first round match of the College Squash Association Conroy Cup. The Statesmen advance to the semifinals where they will face Stanford tomorrow, Feb. 15, at 10:30 a.m.
Hobart was originally scheduled to play Virginia today, however, the team was forced to pull out of the tournament due to the winter storms and travel conditions. With their win over No. 32 MIT, the Statesmen, who are ranked No. 26 by the CSA, improved to 6-12 overall this season.

Scott Marcus picked up Hobart's first win at No. 9 (11-4, 11-6, 11-5), and junior
McGee O'Neil followed with an 11-7, 11-3, 13-11 victory at No. 6. First-year
Art Martella made it 3-0 with an 11-7, 11-5, 11-6 win at No. 8. First-year
Felipe Pantle battled for a five-game win at No. 3 (11-9, 13-11, 8-11, 6-11, 11-5). Sophomore
Danny Cabrera clinched the victory for the Statesmen with a 12-10, 9-11, 11-7, 11-5 at No. 5.

Michael Woods earned an 11-9, 11-4, 11-7 win at No. 7. Senior
William Boyle stretched Hobart's lead to 7-0 with an 11-4, 9-11, 11-9, 11-6 victory at No. 4. Junior
Billy Abrams rallied to secure Hobart's eighth win of the day at the top spot (11-5, 11-8, 11-13, 11-13, 13-11).
