The William Smith tennis team won its third straight match, topping New Paltz 8-1 today. The Herons are now 4-1 this season.

William Smith swept doubles action taking a 3-0 lead. First-years Hannah More and Ashley Lyon logged an 8-5 win at the top spot. Senior Casey Nicoletti and sophomore Sydney Arsenault followed with an 8-3 win at No. 2. Sophomores Kelley Hartmann and Charlotte Federowicz picked up an 8-4 victory at No. 3.

More notched a 7-5, 6-1 win at the top singles spot, and Lyon followed with a 6-3, 4-6, 11-9 win at the No. 3 spot. Junior Haley Wolf registered a 6-3, 6-1 triumph at No. 4 and Nicoletti posted a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 5. Federowicz won 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 6 spot.

The Herons will play their final match of the spring break when they take on Grinnell on Thursday, March 20 at 11 a.m.
