The William Smith College tennis team cruised to a 9-0 sweep of visiting Oneonta today in a match played on the indoor courts in Bristol Field House. The Herons improve to 2-1 this season.

William Smith swept doubles for a 3-0 lead. First-years Ashley Lyon and Hannah More logged an 8-1 win at the top spot and sophomore Sydney Arsenault teamed with senior Casey Nicoletti for an 8-0 win at No. 2. At No. 3 sophomores Charlotte Federowicz and Kelley Hartmann registered an 8-1 victory.

Junior Haley Wolf posted a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 3 spot. Nicoletti clinched the overall win with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at No. 5. More posted a 6-2, 6-1 win at the top singles spot and Arsenault registered a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 2. Federowicz logged a 6-1, 6-3 triumph at No. 4 and Lyon breezed to a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 6 spot to secure the sweep.

The Herons will be back in action when they take on Bethel in their first match of their spring training trip to Orlando, Fla., on March 17.
