Heron tennis edged 5-4 by Rensselaer

Results

The Rensselaer women's tennis team edged William Smith 5-4 in a match played today on the outdoor courts at the HWS Tennis Center. The Herons are now 10-3 overall, while the Engineers improve to 8-4.
 
William Smith came out of doubles play up 2-1. First-year Hannah More and junior Haley Wolf paired up for an 8-3 win at the top spot and sophomore Sydney Arsenault and senior Casey Nicoletti posted an 8-4 victory at No. 2.
 
The Herons earned wins at Nos. 1 and 3 in singles, but RPI secured the victory with wins at Nos. 2,4,5, and 6. Arsenault earned a 6-4, 6-2 triumph at the top spot and Nicoletti registered a 7-5, 7-5 win at No. 3. Wolf and sophomore Charlotte Federowicz were each edged in three sets at Nos. 2 and 4, respectively.
 
The Herons will be back on the courts tomorrow, April 13, when they travel to take on St. Lawrence at noon.
