Veronica Romines.

The Herons had a number of near misses in the first half, but were unable to get on the board. With around 13 minutes remaining, both sophomore

In the 66th minute, Longo evened the score for William Smith. Sophomore
Kate Spiegel placed a perfect cross to find Longo inside the six, who redirected the ball into the goal with a header for her team-leading 11th goal of the season. The Herons had a number of chances for the go-ahead goal during regulation, but the St. Lawrence defense held strong. William Smith registered a 19-1 shot advantage in the second half.
Â
Just 1:52 into the overtime period, junior
Kara Shue pushed a pass inside the box to Smith on her left. Smith then pushed a low rolling shot into the back of the net to clinch the win for the Herons. It was her second goal of the season. Smith was tabbed the tournament's MVP. Shue joined her on the all-tournament team as did teammates, junior defender
Emma Diehl, Longo, senior defender
Zoe Jackson Gibson, and Speigel. St. Lawrence's Kelsey West, White, Samantha Rock, Lindsay Geier and Emily DePoy also earned spots on the all-tournament squad.
Â
The Herons held with a 29-4 advantage in shots and a 6-0 lead in corners. Romines finished with two saves in goal for William Smith and West made eight saves in goal for St. Lawrence.
