GENEVA, N.Y.- The William Smith College swimming and diving team defeated Alfred 139-88 in its home opener in Bristol Pool this afternoon. Sophomore

Madeline Lacey finished six seconds back.
Storch's first individual win, came in the 1000 free. She swam past the field finishing 32 seconds ahead of Alfred's Faith Lanfear. Adams touched the wall third with a time of 12:10.88 and senior
Cece Carsky-Bush finished fourth. Storch's other win came in the 100 backstroke. She placed first with a time of 1:03.42. Haskins finished second two seconds back.
Katchis led a 1-2-3 sweep of the 200 free for William Smith. Katchis' winning time of 2:06.09 was five seconds better than the field.
Ava Lillian was second and Lacey was third. Katchis also won the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:02.72.
Alfred (0-3) earned first place finishes in the 50 freestyle and the 200 individual medley. Kelsey McRill won the 50 and Dylan Staniszewski won the 200. Conboy finished .41 hundreths of a second behind Stanizewski. Staniszewski also won the 500 freestyle.
First-year
Therese Mandracchia won both diving events for the Herons. She posted a score of 219.70 on the one-meter board and a score of 179.45 on the three-meter board.
The Herons also earned first place points from Mantz (100 free, 58.01) and Conboy (100 breaststroke, 1:07.48).
William Smith will be back in Bristol Pool on Tuesday, Nov. 10, when they host Ithaca in a dual meet. The meet is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
