MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Hobart College squash team was edged 6-3 by Amherst College in its final match of the College Squash Association Team National Championships this morning.

Terrance Rose collected the first win of the morning for Statesmen in the No. 2 spot. He defeated Scott Desantis 11-2, 11-6, 6-11, 11-8. First-year
Jack Shannon swept Michael Groot, 11-8, 11-6, 11-1 at No.4. Fellow first-year
Greg Dolente won in five games over Darian Ehsani at No. 5, 11-4, 11-13, 11-9, 5-11, 11-9. Dolente won the first and third games and then clinched the match with an 11-9 win in game five.

The Lord Jeffs jumped out to an early 3-0 lead winning 3-1 in the No. 3, 6, and 9 spots. Noah Browne clinched the match for Amherst winning 3-0 at No. 1.

The Statesmen finished their season with an 11-11 overall record.
