SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The William Smith tennis team dropped its first match of the spring season 9-0 to No. 17 Skidmore this afternoon. The matches were contested indoors at the Saratoga Regional YMCA-Wilton Branch.
 
The Thoroughbreds jumped out to a 3-0 lead sweeping the doubles competition. Sophomores Hannah More and Ashley Lyon competed at No. 1 doubles losing 8-2 to Skidmore's No. 1 team. Senior Haley Wolf competed with Danielle Giannetti but lost 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.
 
The Herons will be back in action March 16-19, when they travel to Orlando, Florida for their spring training trip.
