Hobart (11-6) and the Continentals split the contest's first six matches. The Statesmen collected the match's final three wins at Nos. 1, 3 and 9. First-year
James Pierpont and junior
Danny Cabrera notched 3-0 victories at Nos. 6 and 8 respectively. Sophomore
Felipe Pantle recorded an 11-8, 8-11, 11-8, 11-9 victory at No. 1. Dolente's match clinching victory came at No. 3. He defeated Mac Piviretto, 11-5, 12-10, 10-12, 14-12.
Scott Marcus and
Divine Wing each won 3-2. Wing beat his opponent, 13-11, 8-11, 11-5, 8-11, 11-6, at No. 7, while Marcus emerged victorious, 11-7, 10-12, 11-9, 9-11, 11-7, at No. 9. The Statesmen's three losses all went to five games.
