The Hobart College soccer team opened Liberty League play with a 0-0 double overtime tie with Union College in Schenectady, N.Y., this afternoon.

The Statesmen are now 5-1-1 overall, while the Dutchmen are 5-1-2 this season. Hobart finished with a 10-3 advantage in shots, including a 3-1 edge in the extra 20 minutes played. The Statesmen fired two shots on goal in the second overtime period, but the Union goalkeeper came up with a save both times. Hobart also finished with an 8-5 lead in corners, including a 3-2 edge in overtime.
