With one minute left in regulation, Hobart College senior
Jacob Fox scored the game-winning goal to push the Statesmen soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Potsdam in the 2015 Potsdam College Cup played in Canton, N.Y., this afternoon.

With the win, Hobart improved to 2-1 this season. It was the Bears (2-1) first loss this year.

Tyler Niles put the Statesmen on the scoreboard just 1:05 into the match off an assist from sophomore
Zach Poretz. The goal came on a header off a corner kick. It wasn't until the 84th minute that the Bears were able to tie things up at 1-1 on a goal by Ben Firlit. Tom Benedetto was credited with the assist. In the final minute of play, Fox netted the game winner. Sophomore
Adrian Colmenares passed off a defender to find a wide open Fox, who sent home his shot to secure the win.

Tyler Serafine played all 90 minutes in goal for Hobart and made six saves. Nick Davies finished with three saves in 90 minutes in goal for Potsdam. The Bears held a slight 15-13 advantage in shots, while the Statesmen recorded a 7-1 lead in corners.

Hobart will be back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 8, when it hosts St. John Fisher for its home opener on Cozzens Field at 4:30 p.m.
