MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The Hobart College squash team was edged 5-4 by Bowdoin at Wesleyan University this evening. The Statesmen fall to 5-6 overall on the season.
The Polar Bears jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the match with wins at No. 3, 8, and 9 before Hobart rallied to tie the contest 4-4. Junior
Terrance Rose defeated Bowdoin's George Cooley, 11-3, 11-13, 12-10, 11-6, at No. 5 to begin the Statesmen comeback. Sophomore
Divine Wing earned a 3-1 victory at No. 7, knocking off his opponent 13-11, 9-11, 11-8, 11-9. First-year
Josh Oakley leveled the match when he won 3-0 at No. 1. The match came down to junior
Felipe Pantle and Alex Reisley at No. 4. Reisley won the first two games, while Pantle won games three and four. Reisley clinched the match for the Polar Bears with an 11-5 win in the fifth game. Sophomore
Jack Shannon picked up the Statesmen's other win with a 3-0 sweep at No. 6.
Hobart will be back on the court tomorrow when they take on Wesleyan at 10 a.m. and Trinity at 6 p.m.
