GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College first-year 
Binjo Emmanuel scored his first career goal 46 seconds into overtime to secure a 2-1 win for the Statesmen soccer team over Clarkson In a Liberty League game played this afternoon on Cozzens Field.
 
Hobart improves to 5-4-3 overall and 2-1-1 in conference play. Clarkson is now 5-4-2 overall and 1-2-1 in the Liberty League. It's the fifth time this season the Statesmen have had a game go into overtime. Hobart is 2-0-3 in games lasting more than 90 minutes.
 
The Golden Knights jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute. Aidan Subra collected a long lead pass from Kevin Chrisey and capitalized on a one-on-one with the Hobart keeper. One of the Statesmen' best scoring chances in the first half came with about 20 minutes to go in the first. Senior 
Carl Weiss sent a cross from the left side right in front of the goal, hoping to find classmate 
JP White, however, White was unable to convert.
 
In the 74th minute, White was able to connect on a pass from senior 
Clint Dunn to even the score for Hobart. Dunn pushed his pass from the left side, and White back-heeled the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-1, and eventually send the game into overtime. The Statesmen came out strong in the second half, out-shooting the Golden Knights 11-1, but neither team was able to find the game winner in regulation.
 
In the very first minute of overtime, Dunn blasted a shot that was blocked by a Clarkson defender, the rebound went right to Emmanuel who sent home his shot for the win.
 
Sophomore 
Alec Kaminer finished with three saves in goal for Hobart. Michael King made four stops for Clarkson. The Statesmen finished with a 16-9 advantage in shots, while Clarkson held a 6-4 edge in corners.
 
The Statesmen are back in action on Friday, Oct. 14, when they travel to take on Bard in another Liberty League contest at 4 p.m.
