KEUKA PARK, N.Y.—Three Statesmen reached double digits in the scoring column as Hobart College opened the 2016-17 basketball season with a 75-63 win at Keuka College. Sophomore guard
Jamal Lucas led the way with 21 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor with a 3-pointer and 8-of-11 at the free throw line.

Sam Allen chipped in 12 points and nine rebounds in his collegiate debut, while sophomore
Colin Dougherty contributed 11 points and a game-high five assists. First-year
Tucker Lescoe scored nine points and classmate
Edens Fleurizard had four points and nine boards before fouling out.
Keuka's Greg Tyler led all scorers with 23 points and Cameron Winston logged 19 points and eight rebounds.
The Statesmen and Wolves had similar shooting nights from the floor, but Hobart had the edge from beyond the 3-point arc (7-3 3FGM) and at the free throw line. The Statesmen made 24-of-32 at the line for 75 percent while Keuka earned eight more trips to the stripe but made four fewer (20-40).
With the game tied at 16 late in the first half, Hobart went on a 12-2 run that including 7 points from Lucas. The Statesmen carried a 30-23 lead into halftime.
Hobart led by at least 7 points throughout the second half, expanding its lead to as many as 15 on a Lescoe 3-pointer in the waning seconds.
The Statesmen will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 19, when they visit St. John Fisher College. Tipoff is slated for 4 p.m.
