The Hobart College squash team will return to action this weekend, Feb. 6-7, when it heads to the North Country for the 2016 Liberty League Championships hosted by St. Lawrence in Canton, N.Y.

The 24th-ranked Statesmen will begin the championship taking on No. 6 St. Lawrence (8-2) on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Statesmen will then take on No. 3 Rochester (6-2) at 4 p.m. On Sunday, Hobart will take on No. 32 Bard (8-3) at noon and No. 33 Vassar (1-7) at 2 p.m.

Hobart enters the weekend with a 5-8 overall record. The Statesmen have wins this year over MIT, Hamilton, Dickinson, Stanford, and Haverford. Hobart last won on Jan. 16, a 9-0 victory over the Fords. Last time out, the Statesmen fell to No. 1 Trinity 8-1.

Josh Oakley is a team-best 8-4 and has played all 12 of his matches in the No. 1 position. Sophomore
Jack Shannon is 8-5, playing between Nos. 5-7. Senior
Danny Cabrera is 7-6 playing mainly at No. 8.

Hobart went 2-2 at the 2014-15 Liberty League Championships. The Statesmen defeated the Raptors 9-0 and the Brewers 8-1 on Sunday, but lost to the Yellowjackets and the Saints on Saturday.
