Canisius (1-1) lost its season opener at home to now nationally ranked Boston University 10-8 and beat Vermont 11-6 in a neutral site game in Oshawa, Ontario. Junior midfielder Jeff Edwards and sophomore attackman Connor Kearnan share the team lead with six points apiece. Edwards has a team-high four goals, while Kearnan sports a team-best three assists. Sophomore Steven Coss has taken a majority of the team's faceoffs, winning 35 percent (10-29). Coss and Edwards are tops on the team in ground balls with six each. Senior defenseman Brendan Barren has five ground balls and a team-high five caused turnovers. Sophomore goalie Liam Ganzhorn started against the Terriers and has a .565 save percentage and a 10.00 GAA. Jeff Wilson got the nod against the Catamounts and sports a .500 save percentage and a 6.00 GAA.

This will be the 17th meeting between the I-90 rivals in a series that began in 1995. The Statesmen have won 15 of the previous 16 contests, including each of the past five meetings. Hobart is 6-1 at the Demske Sports Complex.
