GENEVA, N.Y. - The William Smith College tennis team was edged 5-4 by Rochester in a non-conference match in Bristol Field House this afternoon. The loss drops the Herons to 5-4 in dual matches this season.

William Smith took an early 2-1 lead over the Yellowjackets, winning two doubles matches. First-years
Alex Greenberg and
Sydney Ferry won 8-2 at No. 2. In the third spot, sophomore
Alex Cattie and first-year
Connie Froass edged Rochester's Alex Wolkof and Darby McCall 8-6. The Yellowjackets won 8-2 at No. 1.

Rochester (3-5) rallied to win the overall match with four singles wins. McCall clinched the win at No. 6, 6-3, 6-2. Sophomore
Michaelann Denton extended her winning streak to six matches with a double tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-1), 7-6 (7-3), victory at No. 3Â for the Herons. Junior
Hannah More defeated Christine Ho, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1 singles.
