GENEVA, N.Y. – The William Smith College tennis dropped a non-conference match to nationally ranked Hamilton, 5-4, at the HWS Tennis Center this afternoon. The loss drops the Herons to 5-5 overall on the season.
Hamilton, who is ranked 40th in the latest Oracle/ITA Division III Women's Team Rankings, gained an early advantage, capturing two doubles points. William Smith posted a victory in the top spot. Junior

Michaelann Denton defeated Lindsay Jadow and Jane Haffer 8-4. With the win More and Denton improve to 12-4 on the season, including a 7-2 record at No. 1.
In singles play, Isabella Schoning clinched the overall victory for the Continentals with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 5. Hamilton also won in straight sets at No. 4 and No. 6. Alex Greenberg collected a win at No. 2, 7-5, 3-6, 10-7. Denton extended her winning streak to seven matches, rallying to beat Winnie Tang, 0-6, 7-5, 12-10, at No. 3.
William Smith will return to action on Saturday, April 2, when they host Oneonta. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
