PITTSFORD, N.Y.-The William Smith College tennis team notched an 8-1 non-conference victory over Nazareth this afternoon. The win improves the Herons to 8-6 on the season.

Hannah More defeated Allison Friends and Jean McCarthy 8-2. The win improves Denton and More to 14-5 overall and 9-3 at No. 1. At. No. 3, sophomore

Connie Froass also recorded an 8-2 victory. They bested the Golden Flyers' Carlee Hastings and Elizabeth Karstedt. First-years

Alex Greenberg closed out doubles play with an 8-3 win in the middle of the lineup.

At No. 1 singles, More extended her winning streak to seven matches with a 6-1, 6-3 win over McCarthy. More is now a team best 15-4 in singles play this season. Greenberg lost a single game at No. 2, defeating Friends, 6-1, 6-0. Greenberg is currently on a five match win streak and is 12-7 overall in her rookie season. Denton earned her 12th win of the season when she defeated Ami Petosa, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3. Cattie topped Karstedt 6-0, 6-4 at No. 6. Froass added a singles point for the Herons with a 3-6, 7-5, 11-9 win at No. 5.

William Smith will conclude its non-conference slate when it travels to Cortland on Saturday. The match with the Red Dragons is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
