GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith College soccer team scored four goals in the first half and added three more in the second to down Fredonia 7-0 in a non-league game played this afternoon on Cozzens Field. The Herons improve to 5-0-0.
The Blue Devils fall to 2-3-0 this season. Senior

Emma Diehl chipped in a goal and an assist. Senior
Shay Callahan registered two assists. Sophomore
Veronica Romines played the first half in goal for William Smith. Her classmate
Kaileen Murray came in for the first 23:48 of the second half and first-year
Alessandra Bryan played the final 21:12. None of William Smith's goalies faced a shot. Kendall Owczarzak finished with seven saves in goal for Fredonia.
The Herons' final three goals of the first half came in a span of 49 seconds, which is 14 seconds off the NCAA record for the fastest three goals in a game.
Senior
Kara Shue started off the scoring spree for William Smith in the 15th minute. She took a feed from Diehl and fired her shot off the underside of the crossbar and into the goal. It's Shue's fifth goal this season. It was Diehl's turn to score at the 36:08 mark. She tipped in a cross from junior
Lauren Kogelmann to make it 2-0. Randaccio closed out the first half scoring with back-to-back tallies 32 seconds apart, both coming off assists from Callahan. Her first was on diving header and her second was a shot from right in front.
Sophomore
Kristina Camaj made it 5-0 1:33 into the second half, on a low rolling shot from the center of the box. It was Camaj's first goal this season. In the 54th minute, sophomore
Phoebe Wade took a pass from junior
Katherine Campbell and broke through the Blue Devil defense for a one-on-one with the keeper. It was also Wade's first goal this fall. First-year
Jocelyn Mitiguy capped the scoring with her second tally this season. Senior
MacKenzie Smith sent a cross from the deep right corner, and Mitiguy was right out front to send home the shot.
The stifling Heron defense limited Fredonia to just one shot, finishing with a 26-1 advantage. In the 26th minute, Alexis Moreland tried to drill a shot on goal, but it was blocked by one of the Herons. Fredonia's best scoring chance of the second half came with just over 15 minutes to go. Maggie Papia sent a lead pass to Moreland who was just breaking into the box, but the William Smith defense immediately collapsed on her before she was able to even get a shot off. The Herons also held a 7-0 lead in corners.
William Smith will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 17, when they compete in the 2016 Upstate Collegiate Cup. The Herons will face the University of Rochester in Ithaca, N.Y., at 2 p.m. to start the tournament.
