NORTHHAMPTON, Mass. – The Hobart College squash team split its matches at the 2017 Pioneer Invitational today. This morning, the Statesmen fell to Western Ontario 7-2, while they defeated Connecticut College 9-0 in their afternoon match.
Against the Mustangs, sophomore
Josh Oakley cruised to an 11-2, 11-7, 11-8 win over Matt Henderson at the top of the lineup. Junior
Jack Shannon earned Hobart's other point in a match at No. 3. Western Ontario earned six of its seven points with 3-0 victories.
This afternoon against the Camels, Hobart posted six 3-0 victories as they improved to 4-9 on the season. Oakley finished the day with a 2-0 record thanks to an 11-5, 12-10, 11-5 victory over Connecticut College's Matt Lillie. Shannon also finished the day 2-0 after beating John Dunham 11-4, 11-5, 11-6 in the third spot. Senior
Felipe Pantle notched his first win of the season, knocking off Daniel Reisman 11-7, 11-6, 11-8. Junior

The Statesmen will be back at the Smith Squash Center tomorrow when they host sixth ranked Drexel. The match is scheduled to get underway at noon.
