Box Score MENDON, N.Y.- The William Smith College tennis team closed out the fall portion of its schedule with a 5-4 win over Rochester Institute of Technology at the Mendon Tennis Center this afternoon. The match was the Liberty League opener for both teams.

The Herons (2-0, 1-0) jumped out to a 2-1 lead at the conclusion of doubles play with wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. First-year

Alex Greenberg rolled to an 8-1 win in the third spot. Sophomore
Kate Foley and first-year
Katelyn Nguyen emerged with an 8-6 victory at No. 2. The Tigers (2-1, 0-1) earned their first point of the match with an 8-6 win in the top spot.

RIT tied the match 2-2 when Kristen Zablonski won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4 singles. William Smith regained a lead in the match when Foley knocked off Shayna Ginster 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Foley is now 3-1 in singles play this year. First-year
Dina Rigas notched her second singles win of the year thanks to a 6-1, 7-6 (7-5), win over Claire Casalnova at No. 3. Sophomore
Leland Barclay clinched the overall match for the Herons at No. 5 singles. She defeated Annie Steinbrink 6-2, 6-2. Barclay is now a team-best 6-0 in singles matches this year.

William Smith's fall season is now complete. The Herons are scheduled to begin their spring season Feb. 24 when Skidmore comes to Geneva, N.Y., for another Liberty League match.
