ORLANDO, Fla.- The William Smith College tennis team improved to 2-0 on its spring break trip after an 8-1 win over the University of Scranton at Sanlando Park this afternoon. The win improves the Herons to 4-2 on the season.

Hannah More won their fourth straight match, defeating the Lady Royals pair of Nastashia DeNunzio and Julia Frattaroli 8-2 at No. 1 doubles. First-year
Kate Foley and sophomore
Alex Greenberg cruised to an 8-1 victory in the third spot. Junior
Michaelann Denton and first-year
Allie Perron collected an 8-4 win at No. 2.

The Herons won five of the six singles matches in straight sets. More lost a single game, besting Frattaroli 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1. More improves to 6-5 on the season with a 3-3 record at the top of the lineup. Perron collected her team-best ninth win of the season, defeating Emily Machado 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3. First-year
Kate Foley won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 4 singles to improve to 6-4 to her rookie campaign. Kostovic and Greenberg won at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. Kostovic improved to 4-1 on the year with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles, while Greenberg is now 2-0 this spring.

Scranton's lone win came at No. 2 singless where Natashia DeNunzio defeated Denton 6-3, 0-6 14-12.

The Herons will close out their spring break trip on Thursday, March 16, when they face St. Mary's College of Indiana.
