GENEVA, N.Y.-The William Smith College tennis team was edged 6-3 by Vassar in a Liberty League match contested inside Bristol Field House this afternoon. The loss drops the Herons to 1-2 on the year and 1-2 in the Liberty League while the Brewers are now 5-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play.

Katarina Kostovic improved to 1-1 this spring with a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles. The Brewers won 8-0 in the second spot. At No. 3, junior
Michaelann Denton and sophomore
Sydney Ferry battled but fell 9-8 (7-4) in the tiebreaker to Vassar's Connie Yoo and Dasha Ivenitsky.

In singles play, More and Denton won in three sets to earn points the Herons. More bested Kate Christensen 6-4, 5-7, 10-5 in the top spot. More is now 4-4 on the season. Denton defeated Tara Edwards 7-6, 2-6, 10-9 to improve to 3-3 on the year.

William Smith will return to action tomorrow when they take on Ithaca. The match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
