GENEVA, N.Y.-The William Smith College tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory over Oneonta in a non-conference match in Bristol Field House this afternoon. The Herons, who were ranked 20th in the latest Oracle/ITA Northeast Regional Rankings, are now 6-5 this year.

Allie Perron improved to 6-1 on the year with an 8-2 win at No. 1 while junior

Morgan Hamre cruised to an 8-0 win at No. 3. Sophomore
Alex Greenberg and first-year
Kate Foley defeated Alana Green and Faith Haedrich 8-6 at No. 2.

The Herons won all six singles matches in straight sets. Foley didn't lose a game, cruising past Michelle Halpern 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Senior
Hannah More improved to 8-8 on the season with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Oneonta's Alana Green. Perron and fellow first-year
Leland Barclay won their matches 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 and No. 6, respectively. Perron is now a team-best 11-8 in singles play this year, including a 5-3 record at No. 3. Junior
Michaelann Denton defeated Jacqueline Guidice 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2. Greenberg closed out the match with 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 5.

William Smith will be back in action next weekend. On Saturday, April 8, the Herons host Cortland in non-conference action. The next day, April 9, William Smith will host St. Lawrence, looking to improve its 1-2 record in Liberty League play.
