The No. 4 William Smith College soccer team finished the Salisbury University Classic with a perfect 2-0 record, topping the host Sea Gulls 1-0 at Sea Gull Soccer Stadium in Salisbury, Md., this afternoon.

Veronica Romines stopped three shots to earn her first shutout of 2017.

Barwick broke through for the Herons in the 73rd minute. Her shot from the top left of the box found the back of the net and proved to clinch the victory for William Smith. The Herons finished with an 18-4 advantage in shots and a 4-2 edge in corners.

Hope Knussman played all 90 minutes in goal for Salisbury and made nine saves. The Sea Gulls fall to 0-2 this year.

William Smith (2-0) will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 9, when they host No. 2 Messiah at noon following the Carver-DeLaney Family Press Box and Stadium Seating dedication at 10 a.m. at Cozzens Field.
