CANTON, N.Y.-The Hobart College soccer team was defeated by St. Lawrence 2-1 in the regular season finale for both teams on MacAllaster Field this afternoon. The Statesmen conclude their season with a 7-7-2 overall record and a 5-3-1 mark in Liberty League play.
St. Lawrence wrapped up its regular season with an 11-2-2 overall record and a 7-1-1 mark in conference play. The Saints clinched the regular season crown with today's victory and will host next weekend's conference championship. The Statesmen finished the season fourth in conference standings and will host Vassar in a quarterfinal match on Tuesday afternoon.
St. Lawrence opened the scoring in the 36th minute when Robert Reynolds scored his first collegiate goal. He picked up a rebound right in front of the cage and deposited a shot past
Alec Kaminer.

Kyle Patrick tied the game 1-1 just over five minutes later. He redirected a
Pete Critchlow pass into the goal for his first goal of the season.
Ryan Crouse scored the game-winning goal in the 75th minute to secure the victory for St. Lawrence. He slipped a Brendan McNamee crossing pass into the goal.
Kaminer played all 90 minutes in goal for the Statesmen. He made four saves. At the opposite end of the pitch, Mike Smith made three saves in goal for St. Lawrence.
The Saints finished the game with a 19-7 edge in shots while Hobart won the corner kick battle 5-4.
