PITTSTON, Pa.-Eight different players scored a goal and 14 players recorded a point as the William Smith ice hockey team skated to a 9-0 UCHC win over King's College at Revolution Ice Centre this afternoon. The Herons, who were receiving votes in this week's D3hockey.com poll, improve to 14-5-4 overall and 10-2-3 in conference play this season.

Lindsay Brown had two assists in the victory.

Jordan Roetzer opened the scoring for William Smith 3:13 into the first period.
MaryKate Martino and fellow first-year
Jules Kennedy were credited with assists on the goal. Standing behind the goalie, Roetzer tipped Martino's shot from the left post across the goal line. It was Roetzer's fifth goal of the season. Three minutes later, Martino added a goal of her own. Her second goal of the season was assisted by Begley. Begley's shot from the point was turned aside by Sierra Stoltz's leg pad. Martino pounced on the rebound and flipped the puck into the back of the net. Federow's 11th goal of the season gave William Smith a 3-0 lead at 13:22 of the opening period. She collected a drop pass from Scibetta in the right faceoff circle and wristed a shot into the upper right corner of the net. With the goal, Federow became the first Heron to record 30 points in a season.
In the second period, William Smith picked up right where it left off. Sophomore
Kate Klimaszewski beat Sierra Stoitz glove side from the low slot. Brown and junior
Laura Rollins were credited with assists on Klimaszewski's second goal of the season. Rollins broke up a pass at her own blue line and sent the puck to Brown in the neutral zone. Brown tapped it forward to Klimaszewski who streaked down the left wing and found the back of the net. Eighty-five seconds later,
Egan Sachs-Hecht tacked on her second goal of the season. She thwarted a Lady Monarch clearing attempt, walked into the offensive zone and snapped a shot through the goalie's legs.
Fewster's first goal of the game gave the Herons a 5-0 lead at 12:04 of the second period. First-year
Julia Mings collected a loose puck along the half board and slid it to Fewster in the low slot. Fewster one-timed the shot past the Lady Monarch goalie. Scibetta tacked on her 11th goal of the season came with 22 seconds remaining in the second period. Federow and junior
Stephanie Hampton were credited with assists on the goal. Hampton passed the puck to Federow at the right post. Federow hit Scibetta with a tape-to-tape pass and Scibetta one-timed the back door shot into the back of the net.
Junior
Maura Mulligan and Fewster tacked on goals two minutes apart in the third period to ice the game for the Herons. Kiva Sierra Stoltz made 38 saves in goal for the Lady Monarchs (0-18-1, 0-12-1).
Senior
Maggie Salmon started in goal for William Smith and stopped both shots she faced in the opening 20 minutes. Fellow senior
Emily Spencer Came on for the final 40 minutes and made six saves.
William Smith finished the game with a 47-8 edge in shots on goal. The Herons were 1-for-5 on the power play while King's was 0-for-1 with the extra attacker.
The teams will wrap up the season series tomorrow afternoon. Faceoff at the Revolution Ice Centre is scheduled for 1 p.m.
